Title The Late Professor Lim Taek-Gi’s Family Donates 100 Million Won to the School Development Fund

   The late Professor Lim Taek-Gi contributed the entire amount of the condolence money of his funeral as a scholarship, and on the 25th, his family put into practice continuous love for Inha University by donating 100 million won to our school.


The late Professor Lim Taek-Gi joined the faculty of the Department of Mathematics at our university in 1954 and taught students and contributed to laying the foundations for the development of our university.


During his career as a professor, he lived a very frugal life, so he carried his books by wrapping them with a piece of cloth instead of carrying a bag, and wallpapered his study in his house with newspapers. However, he showed unusual affection toward his students, giving money to buy books and pocket money to students with financial difficulties.


The late Professor Lim requested to donate the full amount of the condolence money to our university in his will when he died in 1999. In accordance with his will, the bereaved family donated the condolence money of 10 million won to be used as a scholarship. The late Professor Lim"s love for our university has been shared and continued by his family. In order to honor his noble wish, the bereaved family visited the school on May 25 and donated 100 million won.


Inha University’s president, Sun-Ja Choi said, "We will name a lecture room in the department of mathematics after the late professor Lim Taek-Gi in honor of the dedication and love for Inha University shown by the professor who contributed to and provided support for the development of Inha University." She also said, “Every member of our faculty will be committed to the development and advancement of the school so that the love for this school shown by the professor who cherished the time spent with Inha University and his family will be reflected.”
